Smallville Trading Cards
Inkworks has announced the release of the next installment of its Smallville premium trading card collection. It will be called SMALLVILLE: SEASON TWO PREMIUM TRADING CARDS. The series will be based on the WB Network's smash hit, Smallville, which follows the life of a young Clark Kent. The cards will feature information on characters from the show as well as episodes and other bonuses.
The Hulk Motionglobe
Diamond will be bringing out a new addition to the Marvel Motion Globe series. This time, the Hulk is featured. With MotionGlobe technology, there's no need to shake anything, as you just need to flip the switch and the metallic "debris" shards swirl around the Hulk as he swings a tank turret at an oncoming enemy. A detailed desert scene and high-tech desert camouflage tank make up the base of this astounding piece, all sculpted by Gabriel Marquez. Only a limited number of these will be released, and will be available in March of 2004.
New Crayola Colors
Crayola is celebrating its 100th birthday this month. As part of the birthday celebration, Crayola added four new, unnamed colors to its crayon line-up, and announced four existing crayons had to go to make room for these new, next-century colors. This time, Crayola decided to let colorers decide which crayons would leave the box with a poll on the company website. Mulberry, teal blue, blizzard blue and magic mint will fade away to make room for "inch worm," "jazzberry jam," "wild blue yonder," and "mango tango."
Timeline 12? Figures from Dragon!
Timeline is a film based on Michael Crichton's best-selling book of the same name opening Nov. 26th, and is the story of a group of archaeological students that become trapped in the past when they go there to retrieve their professor. The cast ends up in 14th century France and must survive long enough to be rescued without messing up history. Dragon will be releasing detailed 12-inch figures of characters from the film, each coming with their own weapons and accessories. These large figures should be available shortly after the film is released.
Jakka News: Universal Monsters Series 1 Figures Revealed!
Jakks Pacific will be releasing Universal Monster Series 1 action figures. These figures will all be based on classic Universal Monsters, including Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman. Series 1 is just the first of many others, which will bring to life many other classic monsters.
From JAKKS Pacific:
We are very excited to share with you our new action figure line based on the Universal Classic Monsters. They look amazing! Each figure features exquisite sculpts and paint detail and comes with background accessories for ultimate collectibility.
The first assortment of three figures includes the most well-known and beloved classic monsters characters - the Wolfman, Frankenstein and Dracula.
The Wolfman comes with an extra set of feet, hands and even an extra head so he can be transformed into "Larry Talbot" (Lon Chaney), the human character of the Wolfman. Frankenstein, from the "Bride of Frankenstein" movie, comes chained to a dungeon chair - but breakaway chains cannot hold this figure for long! And Dracula comes with his famous black and red cloth cape, an earth box and his rat and bat companions.
The figures are 6 inches, and will be available in spring of 2004.
