Action figures in time for Christmas
With Christmas just a few months away, toy makers are rushing to bring out their best. It is during this time that toy companies try to bring out their most impressive line of action figures. This month, we take a look at a few of these figures that are sure to be top sellers.
New Disney Action Figures
Playing Mantis has announced plans to release SEASONAL character figures based on popular Disney characters. Each set will be based on a different movie, with the first being based on "Mickey's Christmas Carol". Included in this series were Mickey Mouse as Bob Cratchit and Goofy as Marley's Ghost. The set will contain 6 figures in all to launch the series, and the first should be in stores by December.
King of the Hill figures
Toycom has made a deal with 20th Century Fox; to bring out a set of action figures based on the King of the Hill animated TV show. For now, two series are planned. Series 1 will consist of highly detailed 6"-7" figures due out in November of this year. This assortment includes: Hank, Peggy, Dale, and Bill.
Series 2, shown at the San Diego Comic Convention in unpainted prototype form, will include: Luanne, Bobby and Ladybird, and Boomhauer.
South Park toys
Mirage has unveiled their latest project: a complete set of sculpted action figures based on Comedy Central's South Park. The first assortment, will include: Cartman - with Fluffy the Pig, Kyle - with little brother Ike, Timmy - with swarm of Rats, Tweek - with Coffee, and other characters from the show. The second assortment will include: Butters, Kenny, Jimmy, Mr. Garrison, and Chef. The figures should hit stores by December.
More 12-inch Star Wars figures
Hasbro will be bringing out a new series of 12-inch action figures, based on the latest Star Wars movie. This is the second set of characters, and includes Zam Wessel, Super Battle Droid and Count Dooku. These figures come with a lot of detail, and their realistic appearance is impressive. The series should be stores now, and can be found at Wal-Mart stores around the country.
GI JOE 12" Deluxe figures
Star Wars villains were not the only characters Hasbro is bringing to 12-inch form. A new set of GI Joe 12" deluxe figures should already be in stores now. The items available are Vietnam 9th Infantry and Modern Marine Desert Sniper. The series will be followed by sets with additional characters, and should also be available in time for Christmas.
New Twisted Metal Black figures!
Sweet Tooth and Mr. Grimm from "Twisted Metal Black" will soon be coming out in action figure form. These characters from the popular Play station game series, will be heading to toy stores by November. The toys are detailed and true to the theme of the game. New figures for other characters from the games will also soon be coming to stores in time for the holiday season
